A native Coloradan, raised on the Western Slope, in Carbondale.
Steven began sketching at age 3. He got his own pocket knife when he was 6 and began carving soap.
He started his career in home construction at the age of 14. His art is inspired by his mountain roots and a connection to Native Shamanism.
His love of nature is depicted in the flow of his sculpture, celebrating our exotic – organic environment.
Steven is committed to using salvaged woods from previous projects, other peoples scrap piles, and yard sales.
All his wood is in it’s natural color and the glues are non-toxic. He cuts, glues, clamps, re-cuts and re-glues the wood to give it layers of depth and color.
