Marin Dobson is an artist whose trademark oil paintings incorporate brilliant colors and poetic forms. Her paintings transcend the physical landscape and evoke emotion through the bold use of color, texture, and composition. Her work is accomplished in a painterly style that reflect both her Russian School inspired training at the Sahli School of Art and her study of classical technique at the Art Students League of Denver. She paints primarily alla prima and en plein air. The experience of painting from life infuses her work with a luminous color quality.
Marin has won awards and national recognition for her distinctive oil paintings. Her paintings have been
juried into many national and international shows in California, Colorado, New Mexico, New York and Texas. Marin’s work has also been selected for numerous corporate collections. Marin has been featured in “Southwest Art Magazine”, “The Artists Magazine”, and several local publications. She holds membership in an extensive list of professional artist organizations.
